JakoMeet Terms of Service
Version 2026-10-27 · Last updated 27 October 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of JakoMeet, a webinar platform operated by:
Unusual Companies BV Vinkenburgstraat 2A, 3512 AB Utrecht, The Netherlands Chamber of Commerce (KvK): 90982266 · VAT: NL865517435B01 Phone: +31 30 899 3353 · Email: [email protected]
("JakoMeet", "we", "us"). By creating an account, buying a package or using the service you ("Customer", "you") agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our Data Processing Agreement ("DPA"), which forms part of these Terms.
These Terms are written in English. Translations of the product interface do not change them; the English text prevails.
1. Definitions
- Service: the JakoMeet platform, including event pages, registration forms, emails to registrants, the browser studio (Control Room), live streaming, replays, reports, AI features and Audience Boost.
- Workspace: the account space in which a Customer and its members create and manage events.
- Customer Content: everything you or your members put into the Service, such as event texts, images, presentations, recordings and messages.
- Customer Personal Data: personal data that the Service processes on your behalf, such as your registrants, attendees and speakers. The DPA applies to it.
- JakoMeet Network: the audience of people who allowed JakoMeet to email them about other webinars they may be interested in and, if they agreed to it, about JakoMeet announcements (Audience Boost).
2. Accounts
- The Service is intended for businesses and professionals. You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a contract on behalf of the organisation you represent.
- Keep your account details accurate and your login credentials secure. You are responsible for everything done through your account and by the members you add to your Workspace.
- Tell us without delay at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.
3. Packages, fees and payment
- The packages, their limits and their prices are described on our pricing page and in the product at the time of purchase. Prices exclude VAT; VAT is added at checkout where applicable.
- Launch is a one-off pass for one webinar. It must be used (the event published) within 60 days of purchase; an unused pass expires.
- Growth is a monthly subscription that renews automatically until you cancel it. A cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Event rights are valid for the billing period in which they are granted and do not roll over.
- Audience Boost credits. Purchased credits are valid for 12 months from purchase; the credits included in Growth are valid for 3 months from the date they are granted. When you use credits, the credits that expire first are used first, so included credits are usually used before purchased ones. A credit is used only for a delivered invitation (see 6.6). Credits that return to your balance keep their original expiry date; credits whose validity ended while they were held expire.
- Payments are processed by our payment provider. You authorise us to charge the payment method you provide for all fees due.
- Fees are non-refundable, except where these Terms say otherwise or where the law requires a refund.
- We may change prices for future billing periods. We will tell you at least 30 days in advance; you may cancel before the change takes effect.
4. Your content and your data
- You keep all rights to your Customer Content. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, copy, process, transmit and display it only as needed to provide, secure and improve the Service for you.
- You are responsible for your Customer Content and for having the rights and permissions it requires, including the consent of speakers and other people who appear in your webinars and recordings.
- For Customer Personal Data you are the controller and we are your processor. The DPA sets out how we process it.
- You must give the people whose data you collect the information the law requires. Each published event must link to your own privacy policy, which is shown on the registration form.
- You are responsible for complying with the data protection and marketing laws that apply to you and to the people you reach, including the laws of your own country.
5. Acceptable use
You must not use the Service to:
- send unsolicited email or spam;
- collect special categories of personal data (such as health, religion or political opinions) through registration questions, unless you have a clear legal basis and it is necessary for your event;
- publish unlawful, misleading, infringing, hateful or harmful content, or malware;
- impersonate any person or organisation, or misrepresent who organises an event;
- interfere with the Service, circumvent its limits or security, or access other customers' data;
- resell the Service without our written permission.
To protect deliverability for all customers, the Service stops sending to addresses that bounced or complained and automatically pauses sending when it detects unusual activity. We may suspend features, events or accounts that break this section, and we will tell you why unless the law or an urgent risk prevents it.
6. Audience Boost and the JakoMeet Network
- With Audience Boost, JakoMeet sends a fixed invitation to your published event, in the event's language and in the tone you choose, to members of the JakoMeet Network who match the criteria you choose. JakoMeet sends it from its own address with your organisation's name followed by "via JakoMeet", and receives the replies. JakoMeet is the controller of the JakoMeet Network.
- You never receive the identity or contact details of Network members who do not register for your event; for them you see aggregated numbers only.
- A Network member who registers for your event becomes your registrant for that event, with the same data as any other registrant, and is marked as coming from the JakoMeet Network.
- When you create a send, the credits it needs are held. JakoMeet reviews every send before anything goes out: it approves the send, or rejects it and tells you why, and you receive an email either way. A send you create more than 24 hours before the event starts must be approved by 24 hours before the start, or one hour after you created it if that is later; a send you create later must be approved by its send time or, if you chose Send now, by 2 hours before the event starts. If the event moves while a send awaits approval, its deadline is set again as if you had created the send at that moment. A send that is not approved by its deadline is cancelled. The send time must be at least 2 hours before the event starts, and a send that has not gone out by then is cancelled. A send that is rejected or cancelled before it goes out uses no credits: its held credits return to your balance.
- To protect the JakoMeet Network, JakoMeet may hold Audience Boost sending at any time, and sending stops automatically when hard bounces reach 3% or spam complaints reach 0.05% of the invitations sent.
- Invitations are not guaranteed to produce registrations. A credit is used only for an invitation that was delivered. Each send is settled 48 hours after it goes out: invitations that bounced or were otherwise not delivered use no credits, and their held credits return to your balance. Credits used for delivered invitations are not returned.
7. Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party infrastructure for hosting, real-time video, streaming, replays, email and AI features. Those that process Customer Personal Data are listed as sub-processors in the DPA; the providers JakoMeet uses for the JakoMeet Network, such as Mailchimp Marketing, are named in our Privacy Policy. We are responsible for the Service as described in these Terms; we are not responsible for third-party websites or tools that you connect yourself.
8. Availability, support and changes
- We work to keep the Service available and secure, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation unless we agree a service level in writing.
- We may carry out maintenance and may change, add or remove features. We will not remove a core feature of a paid package during a period you have already paid for without offering a reasonable alternative or a pro-rata refund.
- Support is provided by email at [email protected].
9. Intellectual property
The Service, its software, designs and brand are ours or our licensors'. These Terms give you a right to use the Service; they do not transfer any intellectual property to you. If you send us feedback, we may use it without obligation to you.
10. Confidentiality
Each party keeps the other party's non-public information confidential and uses it only for the purposes of these Terms, except where disclosure is required by law.
11. Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, we make no warranties beyond those expressly stated in these Terms.
12. Limitation of liability
- Our total liability arising out of or relating to these Terms in any 12-month period is limited to the fees you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the liability.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits, lost revenue, lost data that you could have exported, or reputational damage.
- These limitations do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for intent or deliberate recklessness of our management.
13. Indemnity
You will indemnify us against third-party claims and regulatory fines arising from your Customer Content, the way you promote your events, or your breach of these Terms or of the law, to the extent they are caused by you or your members.
14. Term, suspension and termination
- These Terms apply as long as you have an account.
- You may close your account at any time. Paid periods are not refunded, except where the law requires it.
- We may suspend or terminate your account if you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms, if you do not pay, or if the law requires it.
- After your account is closed we delete Customer Content and Customer Personal Data within 30 days, and from backups within 90 days, except where the law requires us to keep it. Export what you need before you close your account.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We will tell you about material changes at least 30 days before they take effect, by email or in the product. If you continue to use the Service after the change takes effect, the new Terms apply; if you do not agree, you may close your account.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply. Disputes are submitted exclusively to the competent court in Utrecht, the Netherlands (Rechtbank Midden-Nederland), unless mandatory law gives you the right to go to another court.
17. General
These Terms, the Privacy Policy and the DPA are the entire agreement about the Service. If a provision is invalid, the rest remains in force and the invalid provision is replaced by a valid one that comes closest to its purpose. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our consent; we may transfer them to a successor of our business.
